sen charger

The Sen Charger reimagines the form of a high-wattage laptop charger into a cylindrical form that neatly spools both ends of the cords and tucks them away.

Bulky chargers for power-hungry gaming and creative work laptops leave you hanging when it comes to storing the wires. They get tangled, are a mess in your bag and an eyesore to look at.

design process

Through back and forth sketching and prototyping, I distilled my idea into a cylindrical form that does it's job well: keeping the wires untangled and stored away.

I used a bayonet locking mechanism for the wire spools.

The space in the middle is where the AC converter of the charger would be.

I 3D printed the pieces, spraypainted them, and then assembled with superglue.

details matter

I filled the AC convertor space with rocks to give my model a realistic weight.

The charger reaches a total length of 12 feet (8 on the outlet side + 4 on the laptop side). The design of this charger can easily be modified to add extra length.
